Our new Matcha Hüppen with real green tea powder of the highest quality are a real highlight for all tea lovers. Matcha is considered a particularly fine type of tea whose origins date back to the 6th century. The preparation method was developed in China, where the tea leaves were initially used as a medicinal plant and ground. This process led to the first tea ritual of the Zen or Chan Buddhists. In 1191, the monk Eisai brought ground green tea to Japan, where the tea culture continued to grow with great tea masters such as Sen no Rikyu. In China, however, matcha fell into oblivion.
The term “matcha” comes from the Japanese and means “ground tea”. The green tea is cultivated in Japan and after harvesting, the leaves are steamed, dried and then ground into the finest powder. This traditional process gives the tea its intense green color and uniquely sweet taste.
This special taste also characterizes the filling of our new Matcha Hüppen. The history of matcha shows that this fine type of tea has always provided conscious moments of pleasure - just like our Hüppen, which reflect the Japanese tea ritual in a modern way.
Thanks to its size, the manufactory bag is an ideal gift or treat for in-between meals.
